NC State’s College of Natural Resources offers two distinct online graduate programs in Environmental Assessment.
The online Master of Environmental Assessment degree is aimed at working professionals who want to further their knowledge beyond the undergraduate level. The online Certificate in Environmental Assessment gives students and professionals the opportunity to develop academic credentials and advanced expertise in the field.
The application deadline for Spring 2018 admission is Sept. 30, 2017 and April 15, 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. Students should have a minimum of 3.0 Undergraduate GPA and a degree in an environmental or science related field and/or relevant work experience.
Applications must include the following:
- A personal statement which includes the student’s professional objectives and how the degree will help them to achieve those goals (professional aspirations).
- A resume for those with working experience which highlights environmental experience.
- Students can upload unofficial transcripts at the time of application, however official transcripts are needed after an initial admission decision is made.
Students who have additional questions can email the program director Linda Taylor at LR_Taylor@ncsu.edu.
Note: Non-degree students (NDS) who want to pursue the online certificate must apply and be accepted before taking their third course. Only 6 credits taken before acceptance can count towards the certificate. Students pursuing the online master’s degree should be accepted into the program before taking their fourth course (maximum of 12 credits can transfer).
